In 1995, Scapa Healthcare acquired Coating Sciences in Windsor, CT, an adhesive coating and slitting manufacturing facility providing bonding solutions of adhesive-based products to healthcare and industrial markets. In 2010, the Windsor facility was registered as Scapa Tapes North America LLC, becoming Scapa Healthcare’s headquarters.

Our team of dedicated adhesive experts are fully equipped to support our customer’s specific acrylic and silicone gel skin contact needs for medical device fixation. We are able to rapidly develop new adhesives from evaluation of raw materials, to development of custom adhesives, to sample generation. We can also support our customers with analytical testing and in-house user studies.

The Windsor facility has a comprehensive set of state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities for silicone gel coating and solvent coating using multiple coating techniques such as knife over roll, roll over roll, slot die, reverse roll, gravure, pattern coating and in-line corona treatment. Other core capabilities include custom adhesive mixing, climate-controlled white rooms, slitting and auto-packaging lines.
